I stepped into the hotel breakfast room Monday. It was full and noisy. Of course, I was the alien-looking person in the room relative to the norms.
My brain could not process the conversations from the tourists which seemed to be in several European languages all at the same time. Of course, all these sounds seemed alien to me. I felt like an alien amidst a sea of alien noises. Though all humans, it just felt like that at that moment.
This reminded me of a wise guidance to turn your car radio channel to a language you don’t understand. This challenges your brain by keeping you busy interpreting the sounds you can’t make meaning of so that you stay awake. This especially helps while driving at night or alone.
