Post my long COVID during all of June, I am still struggling more with motivation, and the ability to focus to do work. Any work at all. It is pervasive in all aspects of my life. But the challenge is knowing what it is, or better yet what I could do about it and what I can’t.
It is made complicated by the fact that one does not know what COVID did or didn’t or whether it is down to my brain design variations, my three decades of diabetes, my heart disease, my bypass surgery, or something else at all from all of these.
What I do know is that we are a complex human system where each human is unique to their set of parameters and contexts, and therefore one needs to plug away at it. Some table stakes responses include eating properly, exercising properly, and getting sufficient and good quality of sleep. Apart from that the only thing that one could do is to make some hypotheses, try out some changes, see what sticks and what doesn’t, and adjust appropriately. Then rinse and repeat.
