On a recent flight, I found Apple TV+ shows available on-demand in the Inflight Entertainment system. I thought it was a great marketing strategy. Apple is behind in the streaming content and delivery wars way behind Netflix, Disney, HBO, Hulu, and even Amazon Prime.
Especially on long flights, their popular shows could stimulate interest which might lead to subscriptions to their streaming services. Shows like Ted Lasso have been a popular and well-known watch, but by themselves are they enough to drive adoption? Something to see where it goes… or perhaps they will buy Disney after all (if all those rumors about Bob Iger’s final move might end up being true)
