Forgiveness vs Acceptance

I read this quote a few days ago and have been pondering about it. I am wondering that if I accepted people as they are then I wouldn’t have to forgive them at all. The fact that I have to forgive someone means that someone has harmed me in some way. But was I harmed or do I believe that I have been harmed?
