I love my morning walks. Especially in this excellent weather. I was walking by one of the days this week and along the pathway was a fence with several posts. On it sat a bird that was watching me. Then as I crossed it, it flew ahead to the next post and waited for me to come nearer. And then it flew to the next one. And the next. This happened over 10 posts as if she wanted to play with me or relate to me.
After the final post, she hopped onto the nearby tree where she was building a nest. For those few wonderful moments, it look like she was trying to say something. Or perhaps she had lost the fear of humans. Or perhaps she was asking for something. Maybe some other human had fed her and therefore she was expecting the same from me. These and a variety of thoughts went by in my head, but then again I know these were all nothing but conjecture.
What I did enjoy is a wonderful couple of minutes relating to a little birdie in this lifetime. And I plan to swing by the same path to see whether I have more encounters of any kind with her again (perhaps with a bag of seeds in my pocket, ready for a better engagement)
