Daily musings #631- Wednesday, 1 December 2022
My daughter and I were roaming around Walmart for a short visit and she ended up visiting the cookie aisle to inspect for goodies…
Oooh!
Oooh, she went. Boxes and boxes of cookies. Tempting. Want it all. What can I buy? Drool. Driven by our subconscious cravings and addictions.
Aaah!
What do I choose? So many options. Especially when we are hungry and shopping before dinner time. Some deliberate first-level thoughts and shallow thinking.
Hmmm!
Now reading the labels. So much processed food. Boatloads of sugars and elements that we don’t even know what we are buying. The better it looks - the packaging and the product, the worse for us. Some deeper thinking while stepping back from our initial thoughts shows that these are bad ideas. We are indeed addicted to food and having the food around available that is suited for us is a surefire way to consume them. So the best bet is not to buy them. Our self-control is often a sham.
Ouch!
Walking away from this aisle with nothing in our hands, with a twinge of regret, misery, and pain.
