After an erratic writing year, I have once again stabilized my ability to write every day. My journey has been in four distinct parts - one of writing every day and being stressed by it (for our two years) then missing writing posts which finally led to completely stopping it. Then a third phase of restart -trying to write at least three times a week which did not go very well. To the current phase of back to writing every day - and successfully so for the last 35 consecutive days.
So what changed?
The simple change was I started posting the blog on the next day instead of the current day. That gave me all the time to write it any time during the previous day. And if I did miss writing it, the ability to catch up in the morning before the posting time I had decided on (7 AM) with the worst-case scenario of catching up the next day before the end of the day by writing two articles - one for the current day and the other for the next day. This collection of options totally removed by anxiety of meeting a deadline on a particular day and has been working well so far.
It should be three years since the start of the blog in two weeks’ time. A long three years indeed and thanks to the small group for being there as part of that journey.
