After I posted on “Attitude” yesterday, I learned later on that this poem poster was brought home by my wife from her work. So, I thank her for that, but this has lived with me for the last several years in my den - so has been glanced upon several hundred times.
Another source of inspiration is the “Serenity” prayer or my own modified non-denominational and simplified version of it. I borrow it from the AA version widely used by Alcoholics Anonymous.
Give me the serenity to accept the things we cannot change, the courage to change the things we can, and the wisdom to know the difference
This is in line with something that came up in my Cardiac Surgery recovery guide where they have divided the risk factors as something that one could influence or not influence. Sound advice like the Serenity Prayer!
