Yesterday I talked about my new work-related newsletter and blog - “Small Moves. Big Payoffs” and it would be unfair of me not to practice what I talk about. Every day.
So, I want to talk about a couple of my own moves. Simple but not easy.
The first change is not writing these posts in the evenings. It was taking too much of my time away from having any free time. Or participating in some Meetup forums in the evening that I badly wanted to go to. (It was a challenge to spend the evening on something else and still write before getting to bed). So, I have started writing earlier - and this has freed up my evenings. Of course, the eventual goal is to post these by 9 AM every day. Then, it would mean that I am writing these in advance, but I am not there yet. At least this one change has helped remove a ton of stress. I feel light now.
The second switch is long the same lines. I started getting up at 5 AM and exercising. That is a couple of hours earlier than I have been doing. I used to be a morning person but as I struggled with my heart disease, my routine changed. But with the energy slowly coming back, it was time to make the switch back to my original routine. The last time I got up at 5 AM and exercised was in September of 2018. And that is nearly 3 years ago. I have seemed to found time with the early rising and helps me have more time to do better things during the day.
Simple switches for dramatic changes. But not definitely easy.
