I love trying out new things. And video avatar software is one interesting area that I have explored before. Especially because I believe it reduces bias to move away from the focus on looks (and name/genetics) that is an integral part of me that cannot be changed. One hopes that the focus is on the content and the message, but often it does not work like that in reality.
I am not a big user of Snapchat, but when Snap released a video filter software for PCs and Mac, I made sure that I should try it out. We tried it with Zoom, but it will also work with any video feed since once you install the software, it comes as an additional camera that one could pick as an option to use. I loved this software and hoping to do some experiments with it on a YouTube channel. It works well for one or two persons onscreen but not for more than that. This one is heartily recommended.
I had tried such experiments a couple of years ago using some convoluted approaches as Apple does not support these out of the box. But did not pursue these further at that time.
Thanks to my wife who patiently modeled with me for the photo used in the title of this post.
