That’s not my backyard tho. Nature in action somewhere in Eastern Mongolia. Credit: https://pixabay.com/photos/landscape-mongolia-mongolia-eastern-2130524/

There has been a lot of rain this year. October had quite a downpour. And my lawn watering bills are 50% less compared to last year. And the grass though lush has stopped growing.

As if it had a switch and someone switched the growth off. Only a couple of months ago with similar rains, the grass was growing wildly, where I had to mow the lawn as frequently as every week. The difference seems to be the amount of sunlight and the angle of the sun.

When the sun was beating down after the summer rains, it was powering the growth of the grass with the energy it consumed from it. A balance between growth, the water supply, and the energy supply from the sun. Now that this balance is broken, the growth has stopped and the grass has moved on to its programmed step from its evolutionary cycle - getting ready to sleep. The tropes in action. Adapting to the changes around. To survive.

It is so beautiful to see nature in action. Every year. Each season. Adapting. Dying. Learning. Growing. Surviving. The cycle repeats.
