I prefer not to depend on apps and data alone. Even when I use Weather apps I look at a few to see what the patterns are. And then I make my own independent assessment by stepping outside the house. This gives you enough information that often holds for the now to a few hours, though this might not be predictable for longer periods than that. The sun, wind, heat, clouds, and rain add to the predictable indicators.
When it rains our pergola catches the rainwater on the tarp-covered over it. Often this gives a clear indicator of how much it has rained. Kind of a rain gauge that allows us to decide on things like when to run the sprinkler system or water the plant beds. An interesting measure that gives us a data point we can use. Only if you look for them and use them for something to provide you an advantage. There are plenty around us if we care to look.
