There are times when we make big decisions. Whether it is me or my peeps around me, I always give them the same advice.
While making the most important decisions - if the decision is between two or more choices - make a list of relevant parameters on a piece of paper. Apply weights for each parameter being cognizant of not allocating overt weight to any one parameter. Then for each parameter, rate how “fit for purpose” it is in a range of 1-10. Then, roll up the total scores by multiplying the weights. Now you have a weighted total score for each option.
Now the next step is extremely important. After deeply thinking over and evaluating and identifying the pros-and-cons of each option, throw this paper out or better still shred it.
It might be even more valuable to now sleep on it overnight.
Then, the next morning, wake up and decide with your heart. Or your gut. Or whatever your emotion tells you to do. The one that feels the least stressful or gives you the least amount of pain in the gut of your stomach. Intuit the decision. You will be just fine.
