I can’t say no to food. It is a feature of mine. Add to the fact that I am traveling means that my routine is out of wack and hunger pang strikes at the wrong moments. Sleeplessness and time zone changes also add to my cravings.
Over the last two days in Berlin, I have been over-ordering food than what was required. Poor calorie purchase management. But then again I think of the weight I could add to myself. And the lack of a weighing scale as a daily motivation partner to put a cap on my eating.
With all these challenges I still somehow managed to overcome the overeating. For lunch yesterday and at breakfast and dinner I threw away excess food that I did not need. Part of a pizza slice yesterday. Half-eaten bread and cheese at breakfast and a wrongly prepared hot chocolate (I did not know what it was until the coffee machine made it) and with 60% of the curry dish I bought for dinner this evening. Hallelujah!
At the ripe old age I am at, I am finally learning to eat less. Or at least not go overboard and binge. And that is a good thing to learn. However late it might be in life.
