A few of us break free and are able to look at ourselves outside in - allocentrically and try to acquire multiple perspectives of themselves. The good news is that once you realize this is how humans are designed then one can always use techniques like second-order decision making or working to first principles in certain circumstances where they want to create better value for themselves - awareness is a start and that might set us on a journey on self-reflection and change.
